Bill and Mardy Freeman have seven children, Jonathan,  James,  Kathryn,  Daniel,  Stephen,  Patrick and  Joel.   They have homeschooled since 1986.   Together they have written Children of Character I, a book on ways to build character in children, as well as Children of Character II

 

Bill has worked for Florida Farm Bureau in Gainesville since 1982 as a computer operator, programmer and now a Senior PC and Network Specialist.   He served on the Board of Directors for the Florida Parent Educators Association from 1998-2004 and currently serves as treasurer on the FPEA Scholarship Board.  Bill has spoken around the state as well as for national homeschool conferences on topics such as homeschooling, marriage and parenting topics.

  

Mardy is four-time FPEA Convention speaker, six-time FPEA Leaders' Forum speaker, HERI Convention and Leaders Workshop speaker, and has spoken at numerous parenting and homeschool workshops around the state and nation.  She has written for several national publications, including Mary Pride’s Complete Guide to Homeschooling.  She leads a monthly character-focused Moms’ Group and writes an e-mail newsletter entitled  A “Mary” Heart.   Mardy is past-president of both Eagle Forum and Women for Responsible Legislation in Alachua County, past-president of a local homeschool support group, past board member of Bread of the Mighty Food Bank, and served as the FPEA Leaders Forum Coordinator for 2005.
