The statistics are in: Home Education continues to grow at a steady rate -- and it's easy to see why. Home educated students do better academically and socially than public and private school children. Be sure to check those statistics out at the National Home Education Research Institute where Dr. Brian Ray has been tracking home education stats for over twenty years.
Our family began home schooling in 1986 when our first child turned five, and we are still homeschooling -- though we are getting pretty close to the end of this journey. We join thousands of other families in saying it has been a very rewarding, and challenging, experience.
If you're new to homeschooling, we suggest getting a copy of Better Late than Early by Dr. Raymond Moore, which can be found in almost any public library or bookstore, and may be ordered through the Moore Foundation.

The Home School Legal Defense Association is an organization staffed by Christian lawyers. One of their services is providing legal services to its members in the event they are unjustly accused in regard to homeschooling. Its homepage has articles and updates on homeschooling nationwide.
